Spring Game Quick Update
Just wanted to wish everyone safe travels if you’ve got a long way to go to the Spring Game. If you’re not going to the game, sorry, it’s not on TV. I’ll be posting my analysis as soon as I can get back in front of a keyboard. Hope to see some of you bloggers there. I’m looking forward to a good solid effort from a bunch of people whose names I don’t recognize. While it will be nice to see guys like Ganz and company do well, I want to see something that makes me not worried about our defense in the fall. Remember, coaches are raving about a linebacker that’s been playing the position for about a month…
Huskers Must Stop the Spread Offense
This off season is already the longest one I’ve ever felt. I can’t wait for next year’s season to start. Looking over the 2008 Husker schedule, I’m exited to see what we can do. At the same time, all of the highly ranked opponents that run some variation of the spread offense will be raising the blood pressure of our coaching staff and fans. In order to be successful (or at least, not be embarrassed), Nebraska MUST STOP the spread.
Recruit Breakdown: Defense
We all should know by now that Bo Pelini’s forte is defense. With top ten defense the goal for each of his coached college teams, it will be interesting to see what he can do with one of the (statistically) worse teams in the NCAA. I don’t expect instant turnaround to the number one defense in the land, but looking at these recruits, I should hope there’s some major improvement in the next couple of years.
